She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter Shafer and Mae Shafer (Siegfried); her husband Melvin Bortz; and her brother Lee Shafer. She is survived by : her children, Melodie Ritter (William) of Palmerton, PA and Mitchell Bortz of Greentown, PA; her grandchildren, Jenna Ritter (Zach) and Joshua Ritter; and her pets, Sadie, Narly and Sophie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
