He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph E. "Steve" Brodt, Sr. and Emma Kauffman (Abel); his former wife Helen Dilts; his son Barry Brodt; his grandson Jeremy Welty; and his brother Ralph Brodt.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Brodt (Van Scoten); his children, David Brodt (Cindy) of Easton, Steven Brodt (UnSuk), Bonnie Welty (Dennis) of Walnutport, Suzanne Franklin of Plattsburgh, NY, Kathryn Schultz (William) and Dianne Brodt of Palmer Township; his daughter-in-law Joan Brodt of Palmer Township; his brother Wayne Brodt of Forks Township; his sister-in-law Edith Brodt of Nazareth; and his grandchildren, Dennis Welty Jr., Jennifer McCoy (Patrick), Bradly Schultz (Jennifer), Robert L. Franklin II, Stephanie Donner (Jason), Robert D. Brodt, Barry E. Brodt (Nicole), Melissa Miller (Timothy), Ryan Brodt (Gina), Steven H. Brodt (Sarah), Samuel Brodt and Karissa Brodt. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Home of Easton, 2000 S. 25th Street, Easton, PA 18042, where he had played the trumpet for Christmas services many years.
