She was predeceased by: her husband John Merhaut (Jack); her parents, Margaret Lutz and Florian Lutz; and her brother Charles Lutz. She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Ciesielczyk (Richard), Susan Merhaut (Albert Abdool), Wendy Kastelic (Tom), Meghan Young (Bill) and Jackie Merhaut (Bruce Goldhagen); her grandchildren, Matthew Ciesielczyk (Tyra), Aisha, Zita Collins, Caitlin Wetherstein (Justin), Sarah (Nick Costa), Samuel Kastelic, Seth (Kellee Kovach), Adam Young (Amelia Spangler) and Ryan Dustevich (Morgan Ritchie); her great grandchildren, Jackson Ciesielczyk, Isabella Cline, Anya, Jada and Aura Collins; her brother Larry; and her sister-in-law Patsy Merhaut. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
