He is survived by: his wife Sandra Lee Mertens; his children, Erik Mertens (Jillet) and Tracy Dabkowski (Don); his grandchildren, Elena, Ryder, Talia Mertens, Jake (Maggie) and Gavin Dabkowski; and his brother Wayne Mertens (Yolanda). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. John Xxiii Parish. A reception will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beinhauer Funeral Home (2828 Washington Rd, Canonsburg, PA 15317).
