Barbara R. Guarna Obituary

Barbara R. Guarna (nee. Varano) of Philadelphia, passed away on August 2nd, 2023 at the age of 93 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Guglielmo; loving mother of Rosa (Bruno) and Vincenzo (Patricia); cherished Nonna of Anna Maria, Pasquale (Veronica), Victoria (Vincenzo), Anthony, and Bisnonna to Alessandro Bruno.

Born in Calabria, Italy. Barbara and her late husband courageously immigrated to the United States in 1968 with two young children (Rosa & Vincenzo). Barbara spent her time working as a talented seamstress making men's suits for many years. Barbara enjoyed cooking chicken cutlets and baking bread in her spare time. She epitomized the essence of dedicated family woman, always putting her loved ones first. We will miss her pignolata, Easter bread, and strawberry short cake at every family gathering and all the delicious food she made. However, we will miss your presence the most, forever in our hearts. Ti vogliamo sempre bene sei sempre nei nostri cuori e di chi ti ha voluto bene.

Family and friends are invited to Barbara's Life Celebration on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 10 AM – 11 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM, all at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 214 Welsh Rd., Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville. Services provided by John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Phila, PA 19154.
