He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Garretson and Edith Garretson; his brothers, Edgar (Butch) and Richard Garretson; and his father-in-law William McClay.
He is survived by: his wife Donna (McClay); his children, Barbara Singer (Nick) and Gary Garretson Jr. (Quinn McCabe); his grandchildren, Isla Grace, Scarlett Rose, Gary Garretson III (Tripp), Brooke Marie, Lydia Jean, Landon Timothy Singer and His; his siblings, Debra Carl (Tom), David and Steven Garretson; his sisters-in-law, June Garretson and Bernie Garretson; and his mother-in-law Barbara McClay. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
