He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Crosier Schaefer and Jeannette Alma Schaefer. He is survived by: his brothers, Mark Schaefer and Thomas Schaefer; his siblings' children, Nora Schaefer and Drew Schaefer; and his sister-in-law Mary Gosser.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McCausland Chapel at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church (7020 Camp Hill Rd, Fort Washington, PA 19034). A reception will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the St. Thomas Church (7020 Camp Hill Rd, Fort Washington, PA 19034). A burial will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the West Laurel Hill Cemetery (215 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004).
