He was predeceased by: his former wife Elizabeth McGlinn Deal; his daughter Annamarie Deal; and his sister Marcella Deal. He is survived by: his children, John G. Deal (Susan), Brian R. Deal (Meg) and Colleen A. Stone (Robby); his grandchildren, Drew, Joseph (MaryKate) and Riley; his child Modena Park; his wife Betty; and his parents, John and Helen. He is also survived by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations in John's memory may be made to St Francis Inn, 2441 Kensington Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125.
