He was predeceased by: his brother James Sweeney. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A.; his children, Christopher S. Sweeney (Lisa), Annette M. Hanagan (Kevin) and John V. Sweeney Jr. (Lois); his grandchildren, Brenna, Sean, Matthew, Jeffrey, Daniel, Brendan and Kyle; and his siblings, Michael Sweeney, Edward Sweeney and Mary Kathryn Chancellor.
