He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude M. "Trudy" Kumpfmiller (Bosak); his granddaughter Jacqueline; his parents, Peter Kumpfmiller and Lucy Kumpfmiller (Kirstein) of Millvale; and his brothers, Roy and Paul.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Kumpfmiller (Yvonne), Karen Junker (David), Robert Kumpfmiller, Diane Cebulski (Rick) and Jean Fritsch (Len); his grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren, Isaac, Aaron, Julie, Crista, Sam, Matt, Michael, Bethany and Leah; his great grandchildren, Taylor, Chloe and Felicity; and his brother Jim.
