He was predeceased by: his child Mary Anne Lewis; and his sibling Tom Cowden. He is survived by: his spouse Mary Cowden (Zablocki); his children, Jean Stevens (Gary) and Michael Cowden; his grandchildren, Lou, Mike, Kelly, John and Joe; and his siblings, Walter Cowden, Dorothy Richey, Rachel Hill, Jane Ott and Laura Weaver. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
