He is survived by: his children, Donald R. Russ II, Dedra A. Girman (John), Dean S. Russ and Drew K. Russ; and his siblings, Bryan Russ of Donald Russ, Devan Hawkinberry (Zach), Mackenzie Russ, Shane, Spencer, Abigail Girman and Elijah Hawkinberry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
