Rice; her grandchildren, James Shaver Jr., Ellen Albers, John Shaver, Leslie McCarthy and Erin Hangey; her great grandchildren, James, Oscar, Henry, Bridget, Timothy, Ingrid, Patrick, Casey, Rebecca, Dean, Amelie and Mollie; and her sister Charlotte M. Grattan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
