It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Giuseppina Scanga (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Giuseppina farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Giuseppina is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Scanga. She is survived by: her child Nicola Buffone; her granddaughter Josie Craig (Zac); and her great grandchildren, Austin, Joseph, Sophie, Sarah and Jacob. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walter J. Zalewski Funeral Home (216 44th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Augustine Church (225 37th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201).
