He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vetterly and Edna Hill; and his siblings, James Vetterly, Harry Vetterly, George Vetterly, Alice Carlick and Edna Bertram.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Vetterly; his children, Robert Hamer, Pam Hamer and Jayne Neel; and his siblings, Jack Vetterly and Clara Beahr. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
