He was predeceased by: his parents, Kemal Mericli and Cornelia Mericli; and his sister Betty. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Mericli (McDonald); his children, Kemal Mericli (Stella), Leyla Hirschfeld (Jerry), Suzanne Mangini (Keith), Denise Cornelia Nagy (Tim), Kurt Mericli (Diane Smith) and Margaret Mericli; his grandchildren, Seth Mangini, Dr. Alexander Mericli (Lindsay), Kristine Mangini, Benjamin Mericli (Duygu), Mark Hirschfeld (Hilary Michal), Ross Hirschfeld (Jill), Dr. Ally Nagy (Nikos), Rebecca Nagy (Dom) and Eric Hirschfeld; his great grandchild Malcolm; his sister Lydia Serpkenci (Hikmet); his niece Lena Mazaraki (Aristophenes); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Marina Charalampides (Stathis) and Angelos Mazarakis (Niki); Electra Charalampides of Athens, Greece. and Diane Pastorious (Jim).

There will be no viewing or service due to Covid-19 and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army.
