He was predeceased by: his parents, James P. Cantwell and Louise M. Cantwell (Dechert); and his brothers, Craig and Keith Cantwell. He is survived by: his wife Margaret McElligott Cantwell (Peggy); his children, Jim Schafer (Amy) and Gail Podmilsak; his grandchildren, AnneMarie, Logan Schafer, Erik, Joey and Kaylee Podmilsak; and his sister Patricia Schultz (Richard).
