He was predeceased by: his spouse Michele A. Murphy (Hennessey); his son John F. Murphy, Jr. (Anne); and his sister Mary E. Murphy. He is survived by: his children, Susan M. Kirsch (Samuel), Michele M. Battle (Glenn) and Pamela M. Morse (Christopher); his siblings, Francis T. Murphy, Jr. and Ruth M. Roche; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Kelly, Patrick, Brendan, Conor, Catie, Sean, Meghan, John III (Jake), Tim, Brigid, Shayla and Declan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
