He is survived by: his wife Josephine E. "Jo" Smerdel; his children, Kris Yanalitis (Mark), P. J. Smerdel (Kat) and Joi Catherine Brook (Tom); his grandchildren, Tristian Yannalitis, Rachel Kate Yannalitis, T. Hayden Brook and Channing Brook; and his sisters, Catherine Smerdel, Mary Brandsdorfer (Louis) and Christine Piel (Bill). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Per health regulations in place, masks and social distancing will be required.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Joe's name to the Central Catholic Endowment Fund.
