He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Anne McCarthy (Malone); his son Kevin McCarthy; and his parents, Edward McCarthy and Elizabeth McCarthy. He is survived by: his children, Linda McCarthy (Gerald Kirner), Timothy McCarthy, Mercedes Maruscak (Rick Hagmaier), Elizabeth Weingartner (Richard), Sheila Braxton (Howard) and Brendan McCarthy; his grandchildren, Damien Maruscak, Heather Merlina (Vince), Sabrina Colvard (Nicholas), Amy Weingartner, Gena Braxton, Julie Ruiz (Mario), Ryan Weingartner and Joshua Braxton; his great grandchildren, Gino, Arabella, Vinnie Merlina and Ava Colvard; and his siblings, Helen Schultz and John McCarthy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
