He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy M. Bryan; and his son David W. Bryan. He is survived by: his sister Mary Carothers; his son Miles R. Bryan, Jr. (Ann); and his grandchildren, Dean Bryan (Melissa), Miles R. Bryan, III (Audra), David McKay (Amanda), Amy McKay and Matthew McKay (Stephanie).
