She is survived by: her sister Jeanne; her children, Kathleen (Barnett Bursley), Michael Kernan, Christine (Michael Burlew), Timothy (Katherine Sersich Kernan), Elizabeth (Russell Siegelman) and Dennis (Kathryn Miller Kernan); and her grandchildren, James Bursley, Loren Burlew (Erin), James Burlew (Sarah), John Kernan (Amanda Ruby Paige), Patrick Kernan, Jacob Rowe Kernan, Maxwell Kernan Siegelman, Jacob Kernan Siegelman, Kevin Kernan and Allison Kernan.

In lieu of flowers donations in Shirley's name can be made to Baptist Homes, 489 Castle Shannon Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
