He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Borowitz (Tomasic); his parents, Mary (Novakowsk) and Thomas J. Borowitz, Sr.; and his sister Elizabeth Zukiewicz. He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Borowitz Troianos (Christopher) and Francine Borowitz Chau (Denny); his grandchildren, Rachael Troianos, Andrew Troianos (Allison), Rebecca Troianos (Justin Morris), Matthew Chau and Joshua Chau; and his siblings, Robert Borowitz (Ann), Irene Lovasik, Raymond Borowitz and Vera Kurtock. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
