He is survived by: his wife Judie Bednar Plata; his children, William Plata (Stephanie), Leiane Plata, Dawn Plata and Joshua Plata (Jennifer); his stepchildren, Katie Nordeen (Josh) and Michael Leschak (Megan); and his siblings, Robert Plata, Patricia Kovach (Glenn), Peggy Murphy, Ted Plata (Barbara), Ed Plata and Ronnie Plata. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
