He was predeceased by: his parent Warren Reed; and his wife Patricia Reed (Adonizio). He is survived by: his parent Kathryn Reed (Emery); his children, Joe Reed (Abigail) and Pam Mahasky (Philip); his grandchildren, Kayla, Kalli, Karli and Jackson; and his brother Tom Reed (Nancy).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of the donor's choice.
