He was predeceased by : his parents, John Zawadski and Stephanie Gozdziewska Zawadski; and his siblings, Alfred Zawadski, John Zawadski, Maryann Fetzer and Florence Mullins.

He is survived by : his wife Ruth Carpenter; his daughter Lisa Ellermets (Scott) of Bristow, VA; his grandchildren, Jeffery Zubia (Amanda) of Roundhill, VA, Jamie Ellermets (Sam Fleshman) of Bonney Lake, WA and Jillian Warfel (R. J. Warfel) of Cameron, NC; and his great grandchild Madison Zubia.
