He was predeceased by : his parents, Orville F. James and Cecile Bair James; his sisters, Barbara E. Franklin and Linda L. Ebert; his son-in-law James Ostrander; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Ebert and Marie Bair.

He is survived by : his wife Hazel M. Williams; his children, Alvin L. Bair, II (Stacy) of Eldred, Theresa L. Armstrong (Ed) of Eldred and Lisa M. Ostrander of Eldred; and his brother William E. Bair, Sr. of Eldred.
