He was predeceased by: his parents, James T. Hobby, Jr. and Emma Elizabeth Hobby-Tarli (Bryant); his siblings, David Hobby and Jill Cain; and his pet Rottweiler.
He is survived by: his stepparents, Sam Tarli and Kathy Hobby (Laczko); his sons, David M. Hobby (Melissa) of Dravosburg and Jay W. Hobby, Jr. of Port Vue; his grandchildren, Josh and Dakota; his brother Dan Hobby (Nicholine) of Columbia, TN; and his brothers-in-law, Arthur Cain of Smithton and William Laczko (Linda) of Acme. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
