He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne N. Smith and Ethel M. Smith (Shankweiler); and his sisters, Rosalie G. Wade and Nancy Filbert. He is survived by: his pet Ocho; his son Carl J. Smith; his close friend Kim Bartman; his daughter Mandi L. Knowles (Daniel); his siblings, Ronald Smith, Dennis Smith and Marlene Harp; his grandchildren, Stephanie Smith, Carl J. Smith Jr., Casey Smith-Heatley, Brayden Knowles and Brynlie Knowles; and his great grandchildren, Hunter J. Smith and Remi Heatley. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
