He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. P. Young and Margaret R. Young. He is survived by: his wife Karen Backer Young; his son Jay B. Young; his sisters, Virginia Taylor (Glenn) and Linda L. Hughes; his aunt Constance L. Rice; his mother-in-law Claire Backer; and his sister-in-law Dianne Robinson (Thomas). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
