It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marie Flynn of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Louis Sammy of Bitola and Irene Theodoroff Sammy of Pleven, Bulgaria.; her children, Kathryn M. Igoe (William), Elizabeth S. Flynn (Roy), William J. Flynn IV (Christine), Michael T. Flynn (Therese), Marty L. Flynn (Eric) and Thomas E. Flynn; and her sisters, Vera Paczolt of Valparaiso, IN and Rose Yelich (Steve) of Walkerton, IN.. She was also cherished by her six children, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was also a member of the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and before the COVID- 19 pandemic restrictions, she had begun writing and rehearsing a musical program to celebrate African American history.
In honor of her generosity and in lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory would be gratefully received by St. Joseph's Center for.
