She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Lloyd Smith and Eleanor Leona Smith (Haddick); her husband Elmer Eugene Kauffman; her sisters, Donna Johnson and Dorothy Heitzenrater; her grandchildren, Nicholas Kauffman and Shannon Work; her son-in-law Edwin Burkett; and her brother-in-law Carl Painter.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen M. Mitchell (Dennis) of Punxsutawney, Vickie L. Work of Indiana, Edward E. Kauffman (Karen) of Hamilton, Brenda L. Burkett of Coolspring and Jeffrey Kauffman (Michele) of Punxsutawney; her grandchildren, Tina, Kim, Jessica, Stacy, Shawna, Erik, Paige, Landon, Richard, Billy, Chad and Megan; her siblings, Donald Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, Louise Phillippi (Gene) of Rochester Mills and Margaret Painter of Punxsutawney; and her brother-in-law Gene Heitzenrater of Warren, Ohio..
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. (115 E Union St, Punxsutawney, PA 15767). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM.
