He was predeceased by: his father James T. Whalen; and his brother Patrick Whalen. He is survived by: his mother Kathryn Whalen (Schmidtetter); his wife Rachel Whalen (Weidemoyer); his daughter Alexandra Whalen; his siblings, James (Anne Marie), Michael, Kevin, Colleen and Erin; and his godson Connor. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
