She was predeceased by : her husband John A. Nies; her parents, Howard Austin and Ruth N. Austin (Moyer); and her brother Richard Austin. She is survived by : her children, Cheryl L. Reis (Roland Reis) of West Lawn, Debra A. Aukstakalnis of Wernersville, Kevin J. Nies (Nancy M. Nies), Todd S. Nies (Patricia R. Nies) and Kimberly L. Bonsall; her close friends, Dennis Miller of McClure, PA, Troy A. Nies (Tammy L. Nies) and Jan A. Nies (Nancy L. Nies) of Laureldale; and her brothers, Gene H. Austin of Mount Penn and Ronald Austin of Cumru Township. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 in memory of Mrs. Carol E. Nies.
