He was predeceased by : his wife Marilyn Ann Weiss (Esser); his parents, Hoyt Franklin Weiss, Sr. and Mamie Louise Weiss (Roth); and his siblings, Eleanor Daubert, Faye Dietrich, Marie Mirenna, John Weiss, Barbara Weiss and Robert Weiss.

He is survived by : his children, Jackie (Robert M. Fogelman) of Reading, Cheryl "Sherry" Ann (James M. Beissel) of Lessport and Christine Louise (Steven Orth) of Mohrsville; and his grandchildren, Lisa, Jason, Amy, Matthew, Katie, Chris, Jordan, Brittany, Emily and Michael. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
