He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Alonzo Caldwell and Marrie Caldwell (Nichols); and his siblings, Johnnie W. Caldwell, Rosia C. Jones, Osie Etheridge, Lillie Mae Caldwell, Charlie Caldwell, Junior Caldwell, Sonnie Caldwell and Alice Caldwell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary A. Caldwell (Weber) of Reading; his son Derrick J. Caldwell (Raisa I.); his grandchildren, Gabriel Caldwell and Jordan Harris of Reading; and his sister Mary Lou Covington of Reading. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
