He was predeceased by: his parents, Ell Lewis and Bessie Slaughter Brown; his former wife Dorothy Johnson Brown; his siblings, Beulah Brown and George Simms; and his nephew William Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda K. Brown; his daughters, Antoinette L, DC of Washington and Delorse L. "Candy" Brown; his grandsons, Robert and Ramir Brown; his stepchildren, Sylvia Dean, Donna Ford, Lee and Demetrius Ford; his sister Adelia M. Brown; and his sibling's children, Ramona, Delia, James, George and Mike.
