He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Kniess and Ruby Kniess (Shiever); and his brother-in-law James Colteryahn. He is survived by: his wife Norene Kniess (Mackrell); his children, Renee Markovich (Rick) of Claysville, Brian Kniess of Rochester and Aaron Kniess of New Brighton; his granddaughters, Rachel Lenhart (Chris), Heather Weinheimer (Paul) and Holly Cruz (Rafi); his great grandchildren, Alyssa, Devylin Lenhart, Zoie, Emilie Weinheimer and Harleen Cruz; his siblings, Elaine Colteryahn of Prospect, DuWayne Kniess (Kay) of South Carolina and Terry Kniess (Linda) of Nevada; and his siblings-in-law, Lauryl Spence (Steve) of Sarver, Niles Mackrell of California and Gordon Mackrell (Marge) of Portersville.
