Joan left this world on October 18, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Skurka and Josephine Skurka (Godlewski); her husband Samuel; her son Aaron; and her sisters, Patty, Connie, Joyce and Jeanie.
She is survived by: her sons, Samuel Wood, Jr. (Monica) of Sarver, Douglas Wood (Kathy) of Butler, Roger Wood (Wendy) of West Deer and Daryl Wood of West Deer; her grandchildren, Allyson Dohn (Jamison), Harrison, Kevin (Kara), Kory (Amy), Ryan (Megan), Dylan and Evan; and her brother Fred Skurka (Linda).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Siwicki - Yanicko Funeral Home (23 McKrell Rd, Russellton, PA 15076). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
