He was predeceased by: his parents, Jefferson A. Whalen and Norma Whalen (Allen); and his brother Jeff. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Whalen (Bummer); his children, Michelle, Michael Opferman, Katie, Ed Wesolowski, Holly and Shawn Kosanovich; his siblings, George, Chris Whalen, Denise, Ron Kanai and Pam Whalen; his mother-in-law Kathleen Bummer (late Herb); his siblings-in-law, Karen and Dave Benko; and his siblings' children, Jeff Whalen, Kellie Laurenzi, Jason Whalen, Nicole Uhrin, Ron Kanai, Stacie Vaughan, Kristyn Siwiec and Justin Huber. He is also survived by spouses; also survived by many great-nieces and nephews and many friends.
