It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvira R. Risner of Scranton, Pennsylvania, born in Peekskill, New York, who passed away on April 25, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Irving Ward; her husband Paul Risner; her parents, Amos C. Gregory and Frances Morrison Gregory; her children, Donald, Richard Piotrowski and Barbara Varcoe; and her siblings, David Gregory, Alice Holbert and Betty Gummoe.
She is survived by: her daughter Frances Frey of Peckville; and her goddaughter Diann Welsh of Honesdale. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
