He was predeceased by: his parents, James Tierney and Mae Burns Tierney; and his son Andrew Tierney. He is survived by: his son Gerard L. Tierney of Scranton; his siblings, Karen Schamel (Mike), Mary Hills, Jeanne Hall (Ernie), Helene Bell and Kevin Tierney (Ruth); and his nieces and nephews, Mary Kathleen, Michael, Matthew Schamel, Lisa Willis, Brian Cruz, Myles Hall, Erin, Jeanine, James and Sarah Bell.
