He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Karl Schaefer and Rosa Schaefer (Reichl); his wife Pamela Bird of Matamoras; his children, Benjamin of Lake Winola, Daniel of Tunkhannock, Nathan (Kari) of Lansing, MI and Heidi Ellis (Keith) of Aragon, GA; his grandchildren, Jonas Ellis, Mackenzie Schafer and Elijah Schaefer; his siblings, Karl (Christa), Esther Chellis and David (Polly); and his sisters-in-law, Linda O'Hara (William) and Debra Bird. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
