He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter J. Gavern and Francis Gavern (Caizzo); his siblings, Nick (Ruth), Louis (Francis), Pete (Marion), Frank (Mary) and Mary Tutino (Sandy); and his brother-in-law Arthur Smith.
He is survived by: his friends, Tony, Jimmy and Billy Jordan; his stepchildren, Debbie Alinoski (Mark) of Tunkhannock, PA, Alice Reuther (Michael) of Seminole, FL, Linda Walsh (William) of Madison Township, PA and Gail (Sean); and his sister-in-law Waltha Smith of Endicott, NY. He is also survived by 9 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great grandchild.
A resident of Mountain View Care Center for approximately three months, he passed on May 3rd 2020, after a brief battle with the coronavirus, COVID-19.
