He was predeceased by: his parents, Mable Ackerman (Schuller) and Francis Ackerman; his wife Cheryl Tyler; and his son Robert Atkins. He is survived by: his son Jeff Atkins of Sharon; his stepson Dennis Weber of Sharon; and his brother Ronald Ackerman of Indiana. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
