He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Strause (Monahan) and Charles W. Strause; his former wife Dorothy Strause; his siblings, Rita, Mary, Janet, Eddy, William and Lamar; and his stepson Ashley Shuey.
He is survived by: his wife Marie J. Strause (Kruppenbach); his children, Michael Strause (Brenda) of Rock and Katherine Wilding; his sister Charlotte Stoudt of Orwigsburg; his siblings-in-law, Sherry Strause of Hegins and Robert McDonald of Orwigsburg; his grandchildren, Erin, Amber (Dustin), Hunter, Tyler, Tayler and Carter; and his great grandchildren, Wyatte and Paizley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
