It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Hughes of Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania, born in Blossburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 27, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Kline and Elizabeth Pontefract Kline; her husband Carl E. Hughes; and her brother Colby Kline. She is survived by: her children, Earl L. Hughes (Marlene) of Trout Run, Carl E. Hughes, Jr. (Deborah) of Trout Run and Carlene F. Hendershot (Theron) of Shinglehouse; her grandchildren, Stephen Hughes (Celeste), Charity Vonneeda (Chad), Andrew Hughes (Shawnalee), Sabrina Perkins (Sean), Natalie Seely (Pastor Phil) and Joshua Hendershot; and her siblings, Lenore Soffel (Howard), Betty Shedden (Lynn) and Preston Kline.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services will be held privately with Evelyn's grandson, Pastor Phil Seely, of Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, officiating.
