He was predeceased by : his parents, Ora C. Kemp and Alta E. Jones Kemp; his wife Gwendolyn D. Leone; his sons, Jonathan O. Kemp and James L. Kemp; and his siblings, Lila E. Higley, Murray E. Kemp and Carrol B. Kemp.

He is survived by : his children, Kay E. Casler of Hamburg, N. Y., Pastor Fred E. Kemp (Gail) of Eleven Mile and Stephen C. Kemp (Teresa) of La Plata, Maryland; and his daughter-in-law Deborah Kemp of Midlothian, Illinois. He is also survived by two granddaughters; two grandsons; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
