He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald T. Filer and Ada L. Stoddard Filer; and his siblings, Donald Filer and Lois Filer. He is survived by: his children, Diane DeArmond of Niagara Falls, N. Y., Donna Filer (Glenn Perkins) of Oswayo, Michael Filer Jr. (Michelle) of Shinglehouse, Timothy Filer (Janet Beenau) of Sanborn, N. Y., Debra Brown (Arnie) of Horseheads, N. Y. and Tina Payne (Chris) of Shinglehouse; and his brother Jack Filer of Mesina, N. Y.. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
In keeping with COVID-19 restrictions, visitation will be held privately for family only at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
