He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Helm and Frances Keefer Helm; and his wife Dona H. Helm. He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Reed (Mark) of Shippensburg and Leah Schmitz (Gary) of Shippensburg; his grandsons, Baden Reed (Kristen) and Luke Reed; and his great grandchild Wyatt Reed.
